A Symphony of Spring Sounds: House Concerts at The Tambourine

This April, The Tambourine Lounge, neighbor of the Holiday Music Motel, has already set the stage for unforgettable musical evenings, adding to the vibrant tapestry of Door County’s cultural scene. On April 5th and 6th, we celebrated RUBY JAMES BAND, Door County’s rock ‘n’ roll sweetheart and former frontwoman of WiFEE & the HUZzBAND. Her new band captivated the audience with powerful performances across two nights, each featuring a unique opening act.

The first night, April 5th, saw Eric Hagen open the show, setting the tone with his evocative music that perfectly complemented the headlining act’s dynamic energy. The following evening, April 6th, the audience was treated to the talents of Amelia White from Nashville, TN. Her soulful performance paved the way for another night of RUBY JAMES BAND’s compelling rock ‘n’ roll, marking a memorable start to the spring season at The Tambourine.

In an exciting addition to our April lineup, pat mAcdonald introduces a unique experience with a couple of Wednesday “side shows” at The Tambourine Lounge on April 24th. These intimate concerts, set in the cozy space to the left of the stage, feature pat’s road rig for a close-up and personal performance atmosphere. With seating limited to about 12-18 people, this exclusive setting promises an unmatched level of intimacy and connection with the artist. All proceeds from these shows will benefit the Steel Bridge Creative Foundation, supporting the ongoing mission to foster creativity and art in Door County.

In addition to these special house concerts, don’t forget our Weekly WRiTERS NiGHT, every Thursday. This longstanding tradition offers a platform for songwriters, poets, and storytellers to share their original work in an intimate and supportive environment. It’s a unique opportunity to witness the creative spirit of Door County firsthand, making the Holiday Music Motel a hub for artistic expression throughout the spring season.

Embracing the Outdoors: The Flora and Fauna of Door County

As the ice thaws and the days grow longer, Door County awakens to the life-affirming beauty of spring. Wildflower trails across the county, such as those found in Potawatomi State Park and Peninsula State Park, are not to be missed. These trails become a mosaic of colors in April, with trilliums, hepaticas, and spring beauties paving your path. It’s a perfect setting for nature photography, leisurely hikes, and moments of reflection amidst the beauty of spring.

Take another opportunity to explore the area’s natural splendor, with a visit to local gardens that showcase the diversity of Wisconsin’s botanical heritage. The Ridges Sanctuary, with its unique landscape shaped by ancient shorelines, offers a glimpse into rare wildflower species and the beauty of native Wisconsin flora.

As Door County transitions into the lush greenery of April, not only does the landscape bloom with vibrant flora and awakening fauna, but the region’s commitment to conservation efforts becomes increasingly evident. The Holiday Music Motel, your cozy gateway to exploring the natural wonders of the season, is surrounded by the unparalleled beauty of a region dedicated to preserving its ecological integrity.
